My mother’s boyfriend just sent me this picture from the hospital.
My mom was standing on her kitchen counter back in SC, putting away Christmas mugs. She lost her balance, jumped backwards, landed on her feet and BROKE BOTH HER HEELS.
Had surgery to put screws in one of her heels yesterday. She’ll be in a wheelchair for at least 3 months and won’t likely be able to walk freely for at least 6 months. Oof.
Also attaching a photo I took of her a few days ago and a picture of the REASON for this debacle. A “Who’s Hiding in My Mug?” mug that I insisted on drinking Christmas booze out of. Me and this ceramic moosedeer are 95% responsible for this tragic event.
