My guess is any thing remotely true in this world is rapidly surrounded by “confuserators” to make the average person’s search for truth a disorienting, terrifying and anti-social experience.
It also makes friends and family consider you “ugly” and “dangerous” or “self-destructive” or “obsessed” because your message is interpreted for them by any given chronic mind-controller they happen to trust.
What makes the same friends and family get Stockholm Syndrome with the mainstream media is something Licklider was studying when he invented the Internet. It seems that some of us have an attraction to self-abusive dedication to world views that conflict with our own … but which offer an artificial sense of “I was right all along. I didn’t have to do any research.”
